Celebrate Juneteenth with the San Antonio Black History Bus Tour: Juneteenth Edition, presented by SA Black History Tours, a division of Melaneyes Media. This guided bus tour visits significant African-American landmarks such as the Carver Cultural Community Center, Phyllis Wheatley High School, Ellis Alley, and the Ella Austin Orphanage.
As you ride, you’ll hear stories of legacy, culture, and resilience inspired by the award-winning documentary Walk on the River. Created to preserve Black history amid gentrification on San Antonio’s East Side, this tour offers a powerful educational experience. A 30-minute early arrival is requested. Tickets are $30 and must be purchased in advance, with no sales at the door or refunds. The comfortable 50-passenger charter bus includes A/C, restroom, reclining seats, and USB outlets. The tour departs from the Carver Branch Library at 3350 E. Commerce Street, where free parking is available.
